About us

LucidWave prepares the next generation of handheld ultrasound imaging for the market. It is based on a patent pending MEMS technology that will enable us to deliver a disruptive solution that is both cost-effective and highly performing. Our team aims to bring this exciting technology to a wide range of medical disciplines and places where point-of-care diagnostic equipment is only limited available.

Our vision

Most of the medical doctors have little tools available to make a well supported diagnosis at the point-of-care. When choices need to be made under time pressure, this may lead to medical mistakes. Technologies such as MRI and ultrasound imaging have revolutionized medicine, but still require an appointment with the radiology department or another specialist. We want to offer a handheld ultrasound device of superior quality that can be used at the point-of-care, at an affordable cost and by many medical disciplines.

Team

The LucidWave technology was developed at the MEMS-technology group (MNS) and the Nanocenter facilities of KU Leuven. Within the MNS-group, consisting of about 25 researchers, a dedicated group of highly skilled engineers will make LucidWave investment ready.
