LucidWave prepares the revolutionary introduction of real-time ultrasound imaging for the delivery room. It is based on a patented MEMS technology paired with instantaneous key-metrics for labor powered by AI. Our team aims to bring this exciting technology and system to every delivery room and obstetrics department!

Our vision

Most tools available in delivery rooms today provide limited information to guide critical decisions during labor. When doctors and midwives must act under time pressure with insufficient data, this can lead to delayed interventions, unnecessary C-sections, or complications for both mother and baby. While ultrasound imaging can offers vital insights into fetal position, dilation, and umbilical cord status, current systems are bulky, expensive, and confined to specialized departments. We want to bring high-quality ultrasound imaging directly into the delivery room with an adapted form-factor that allows for real-time imaging with low difficulty for the staff to adjust, empowering obstetric teams to make informed decisions in real time, improving outcomes and safety for every birth.

Team

The LucidWave technology was developed at the MEMS-technology group (MNS) and the Nanocenter facilities of KU Leuven. Within the MNS-group, consisting of about 25 researchers, a dedicated group of highly skilled engineers will make LucidWave investment ready.
